Hello there, I’m Tex! I’m a handsome sorrel (chestnut), 15 hands high, and was born in Egypt – no, no, not the one with the pyramids – the one in Texas!

I may not have seen the pyramids, but I am quite cosmopolitan and have traveled the world: England, Holland, Virginia, and Idaho, and all the US states along the way.
I was originally bred to be a cutting horse, but never got to try my hoof at cutting cows. I was whisked away to England as a three-year-old and started under saddle along the canal waterways of Staffordshire. When I returned to the United States (with a posh English accent, of course), I began fox hunting in South Carolina and started driving in Virginia. I have even tried side saddle!

My travel companion is my friend Rupert the brown dog, who warns me about any hidden monsters as we ride and drive together. Here he is prowling for anything lurking in the river.

My favorite things are eating, sleeping and modeling. I’m quite debonaire and have modeled everything from Christmas hats to side saddles. I really don’t object to any of this as long as I don’t have to work too hard. My main goal in life is a good nap.

Now I find myself back home in Texas, and I’m looking forward to meeting and working with veterans! Follow Ranch Ride Carriage Drive for updates on my newest adventures!
